What is a Question?

Challenges are made up of a set of Questions played within a given time frame, usually a single day. Each Question has a standard set of components (Clue, Question, and Insight) and an optional addition (Learn More Items) all of which are explained in more detail below...

CLUE:

When you play a Question, you'll first see a Clue for about 20 seconds. If you're playing in Live Mode (with other players), you will have to wait until the green "fuse" timer moving across the top of the screen runs out and the Question is revealed. While the fuse burns down, other players are joining in so that everyone playing gets the Question delivered at the exact same time! Use the time to study the Clue while anticipating what the Question and possible answer might be.

ANSWER:

Once the Question pops up, you'll have 20 - 30 seconds to answer.  The answers could be traditional multiple-choice text boxes, a True/False choice, or the answers could be represented as a group of images from which you can select the correct option.

Quickly read the Question and make your choice. The scoring always starts at a pre-determined value (e.g., 300 points) and then decreases as time ticks away, until the minimum Question value is reached (e.g., 50 points). Your score will reflect how fast you answered. The quicker you answer, the higher you'll score when you get it right. But, be careful not to rush unless you're 100% certain that you have the correct answer because if you get it wrong a rushed answer will mean more points lost!

You can see how much time you have left to answer by watching the moving "fuse" pass from left to right inside the Question title box. If the fuse "burns out" and you haven't answered the Q, you won't earn any points.

INSIGHT:

After you play the Question, or the timer has run out, you'll be shown an Insight to reinforce the correct answer. The Insight will help you consider the topic further and boost your score in the future (See tip under "Learn More Items"). While you read the Insight, the system is waiting to hear from everyone who played the Question and compiling all of the results, so be patient. Once you've gotten the result, check out the Learn More Item, an in-depth document, link, or video that further explains the Insight. Then, check the Leaderboard to see how you stack up to the competition.

LEARN MORE ITEMS:

Once the Question has finished and you've seen the results, you'll find yourself at the Insight screen. Here, a "Learn More" button may appear at the bottom of the Insight. Always click the "Learn More" button to get even more information about the topic of the Question.

Tip: Later Questions may draw from the Learn More Items so it's a good idea to ALWAYS click on a Learn More Item when it's available!

LEADERBOARD:

The App provides you with real-time results, whether you answered a Question correctly or incorrectly. If you want to see the overall Leaderboard for your current challenge, click out at the top left. This will take you back to the Challenge Timeline, then click the Leaderboard graph icon at the top of the screen.
